These Optimist buoyancy aids are made of polyurethane-coated nylon. They are approximately twice as light and significantly more durable than PVC or PVC-coated nylon buoys. Some buoys are equipped with a twist-lock valve. This valve is attached to a tube, allowing the buoy to be inflated and deflated easily and quickly.
