Mainsail or jib hook ring
An essential accessory used on many catamarans, the hook ring allows you to attach the mainsail or jib to the hook at the masthead. This maintains the tension of the mainsail or jib on the hook. The halyard is no longer used for tensioning but only for hoisting and lowering the sail. Reduce boat preparation time!
You can choose between 2 versions: with a halyard ring (Hobie Cat 17, 18, 21, KL, New Cat, ERPLAST, TWIN CAT, 2Win, etc...) or without (Dart 18, Nacra, F18, etc...)
Simple to use, tie a knot in your halyard around the main ring (or the small ring). Pass and screw the shackle through the sail head. When you hoist your sail, the main ring will automatically hook onto the hook at the masthead. When lowering, tighten the halyard and rotate the mast slightly to move the hook away from the ring.
Dimensions:
- Stainless steel ring: 6mm x 35mm
- Stamped Stainless Steel Shackle: 5mm x 16mm wide x 25mm long
- Small Stainless Steel Ring: 3mm x 6mm wide x 12mm long
The small ring allows you to pass a 6mm halyard through in two sections without any obstruction. Made of A4 stainless steel.
